Please Don’t Call Me On My Bluff Pay Me What You Owe Me / Give Me Your Money Who Y’all Think Y’all Frontin’ On

So someone has suggested I start a Go Fund Me page for myself for the move. I dunno. It seems a little… weird/unusual/desperate/tacky/lame/sleazy/inelegant/uncouth for a lack of a better word? Asking strangers to help contribute to my house?  But I downloaded the app to have a look again and see what it’s all about. I haven’t used the app since I started a page for N & D when their apartment burned down (a reasonable reason for a page in my opinion). But when I browsed around and saw what people were actually funding i.e.Girls trips, retirement parties, car battery replacements, trips to see Hamilton on Broadway,  I might possibly be considering warming up to the idea.

I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try, since the worst that could happen is me ending up in the same place I am at now. I guess I’m just trying to figure out what in the heck I would write in the description if I choose that path… lol

“Help single mom not resort to crime’

Catchy title hey LOL.

Don’t worry, I’ll workshop it a bit, maybe lol.

UPDATE: I totally did it, check it out below;

  1. I say go for it! Love the title!

    I have used a fund me account for a summer course my daughter took two summers ago and it went well. At first, I was hesitant but after going around the site and seeing what other people were requesting, I didn’t feel so bad and you shouldn’t either.

    Best of luck!

  2. I’ve always felt guilty about starting one too. And after two months in and out of the hospital I really started considering it.

    It is really crazy what some people ask for. I saw a guy ask to help pay off his parking tickets…

    I don’t think I’d be able to donate a whole lot, but every little bit helps you out 🙂
